The Franklin County Jail is a minimum to maximum facility in Columbus, Ohio. Two facilities house inmates. The jail houses inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor or felony offenses. Adult and juvenile offenders are housed in the same facility and are either awaiting trial, serving the time, or waiting for transport to a state or federal prison. Jail inmates can receive letters and photographs through the USPS. All mail will be opened and searched for contraband. Mail must be addressed with the inmate’s full name and booking number. You can also visit with an inmate for one fifteen-minute visit per week. A maximum of 2 adults and 3 children per visit for each inmate.
